Every tool here moves strings out of your codebase, translates them, and hands them back. They differ on what happens around that. If you have a localization department with vendors and approvals, buy the platform built for that department — Phrase, Lokalise or Crowdin. If you cannot run a build step — you paste code into a page or a theme and that is the whole of your control — a proxy-based tool serves an indexable page per language where a script cannot, whatever the platform is called. If you have a build and no localization process, and what you actually want is for the whole subject to stop needing you, that is the gap BeMyWords was built for.

Weglot
Choose Weglot if your site is on a hosted platform — Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow — and you need the translated pages to rank, not just to read. Their proxy gives you a real URL per language there and we have deliberately not built one, because it would mean routing your visitors through us. Also choose them for the ecosystem: years of edge cases, a big integration catalog, and a large support team.

Choose DeepL when what you need is the translation of a piece of text, not a system that keeps a site's translations current.
